Just as Cobb EMC provided electricity for the first time to rural areas more than 60 years ago, we continue to serve, support and grow the communities in which we live and work.

Cobb EMC serves some of the area's leading office, retail, business, and manufacturing firms. Since the Georgia Legislature passed the Georgia Territorial Electric Service Act (GTESA) in 1973, large power consumers with connected loads greater than 900 kilowatts have been able to choose their power supplier.

Notable companies who have chosen Cobb EMC include:

  • American Flat Glass Distributors
  • BrandsMart USA
  • Cobb Galleria Convention Centre
  • Columbian Chemicals
  • EKA Chemicals
  • FedEx Ground
  • The Six Office Towers at the Galleria Atlanta Complex
  • Flexible Products
  • Galleria Atlanta Specialty Mall
  • The Institute for Nuclear Power Operations
  • The Renaissance Stouffer Waverly Hotel
  • Woodstock Baptist Church
  • Several large retail and food stores including Home Depot, Kroger and Publix, as well as numerous Cobb and Cherokee County schools.

We are proud that we are able to offer large power prospects sophisticated technology and individual attention such as site-specific demographic profile information, site-planning and more. Cobb EMC delivers economical and reliable service through our high-tech Power Control Center, computerized Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and automated mapping.

Cobb EMC will also serve the new Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre - the first major performing arts facility built in metro Atlanta in four decades. The facility will include a 2,750-seat theater, special event space, a 1,500-space parking deck, full-service food and beverage capabilities and rehearsal facilities.

The Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, scheduled to open in 2007, will be a catalyst for cultural arts initiatives in metro Atlanta and the Southeast, and will create 1,520 area jobs during the construction period and 2,840 jobs for the state of Georgia.

By providing reliable electric service at competitive rates to new businesses and industries locating in our area we help our communities to grow and prosper. Additionally, large electric loads like these help better utilize the generation capacity that Cobb EMC purchases. We are proud to be a part of improving the quality of life for all of our member-consumers.
